The good news is that getting fit is not as hard as you may think. Here is some fitness advice to help you reach your goals.
Being fit is a goal many people try to achieve by lifting weights at the gym. Truthfully, you only need to do six different exercises to get fit. These include: squats, leg raises, the pull up, bridges, the push up and handstand push ups.
Do not fear. Bicycling can be a really enjoyable alternative. So long as you have a reasonable commute, biking can be an inexpensive and fun way to get fit on your way to work. Riding a distance of 5 miles should take no more then thirty minutes on a bicycle. So if your commute to work is 5 miles or less it could be a good option for you. Plus, you will get exercise a second time as you bicycle home.
Make sure to keep good variety in the exercises of your fitness routine. A varied routine makes it easier to stay focused and motivated when you are trying to become more fit. Additionally, muscles can become too acclimated to certain exercises and you won’t continue to benefit as much from them.
Record each thing you do on a daily basis. Include the food you eat, the beverages you drink, the exercise in which you engage — everything. If you really want to be a completionist, record the weather, too. You will be able to reflect on any highs or lows if you do. If you choose not to exercise for the day, explain your reasons in your journal.
Start an easy-to-do exercise journal for everyday use. Record your daily work outs, and be sure you add in all the extra exercises you do each day. See how much you walk every day with a pedometer. This helps you track progress.
If you are working out with a padded bench then be sure to check the quality of the padding before you begin. You can do this by pressing on the cushion to assess its ability to support you. If the wood can be felt under the padding, choose a machine that has more padding. A machine that does not have enough padding won’t support you properly, which can cause bruising and injury.
Take a page from tennis players with this simple arm exercise. Find a flat surface and put a big piece of newsprint onto it. With your dominant, or stronger hand, crumple up the sheet of paper for about 30 seconds. When you have done this twice, change hands, do it one more time, and then switch back to your dominant hand.
Use these suggestions to get your fitness routine moving in high gear. You have to make fitness a part of your daily life. If you get healthy and stay fit, you will be better equipped to handle life’s ups and downs.
